Американские создатели сериалов продолжают изучать историю России. Полудокументальный фильм о Николае II поразит роскошью декораций и обилием обнаженных сцен.
Сериал повествует о правлении последней династии Романовых. При этом показаны две временные линии. В первые минуты мы видим преподавателя, который общался с семьей Романовых до страшной трагедии. Через 7 лет после революции он отправился в Берлин, чтобы определить: правда ли душевно-больная девушка из госпиталя является княжной Анастасией. Параллельно с этим нам показывают свадебные подготовки Александры и коронацию Николая II. Эти две временные линии будут развиваться на протяжении всего сериала.
Об актерах:
В съемках сериала задействованы актеры, которые совсем не часто светятся на экранах. Я считаю, это отличное решение. Новые лица в данном случае не будут отвлекать от исторической нити. Роль Николая II исполнил актер Роберт Джек. На мой взгляд, с этой ролью он справился отлично. Актер очень хорошо передает эмоции своего героя, понравилось, что персонажа не лиши юмора. В его действиях проявляется определенная нерешительность, огромная ответственность тяготит его, за этим персонажем интересно наблюдать. В роли Анастасии актриса Сюзанна Херберт. В первых сериях немного неубедительна, но к середине сериала наконец-то проявляет свой характер. Роль загадочного и порой ужасающего Распутина исполнил Бен Картрайт.
Об исторической составляющей:
Думаю, что эта часть вызовет не мало споров. В интернете уже активно обсуждается фотография мавзолея на Красной площади, которую создатели необдуманно показали в одной из серий. Соглашусь, что это неслабый ляп (покруче стаканчика кофе в «Игре престолов»). Примерно на 11-ой минуте в первой серии я заметила, что на руке Николая II есть татуировка дракона. Решила поискать в инете по этому поводу. Оказывается и правда была, так что можно смотреть дальше. Хотя вряд ли на мавзолее все киноляпы закончились, потом узнаем у более внимательных зрителей.
О роскошных декорациях:
Больше всего в сериале мне понравились декорации, костюмы и операторская работа. Все сделано настолько красиво, что периодически забываешь про страшную историческую трагедию, которой посвящен сериал. Костюмеры постарались особенно хорошо, нужно было создать сотни роскошных нарядов и они с этим справились.

Я не жалею о просмотре, но сериал вызывает смешанные чувства. Если бы сериал позиционировался как художественный и без вставок мнений исторических экспертов, то я поставила бы оценку 4 или 5. Но в данном случае ставлю 3 балла. Отговаривать от просмотра не буду, по крайней мере, будет что обсудить с друзьями или коллегами. Думаю, много кто посмотрит этот сериал из-за интереса и логотипа популярного Нетфликса.

Rasputin’s influence grows. The Romanovs retreat into a bubble of luxury while the czar’s forces brutally suppress protests by a starving populace.
4. War
World War I takes Nicholas to the front. Back home, outrage grows over high casualties and Alexandra and Rasputin’s political intrigues.
5. Revolution
Rasputin is gone, but Nicholas continues his catastrophic policies in war and at home. Deprivation pushes the population from unrest to revolution.
6. The House of Special Purpose
The czar abdicates, and civil war erupts. As pro-royalist forces close in on the house where the Romanovs are imprisoned, the family’s fate is sealed.
